About My Online Food Pantry

David created this webapp to shorten food pantry lines and make it more efficient for food pantries to pack food. Some of the features of this webapp include allowing clients to create accounts online, sign in using a username, phone number, or email, being able to upload proof of household online, being able to prepack clients' order before they arrive (this works even if you don't have any storage space), allow each pantry staff to pack multiple orders at once, etc.

David started off as a volunteer at Masbia, a kosher food pantry and soup kitchen. After volunteering for a while, the manager noticed how hard working and efficient he was and he was hired as the Site Coordinator. As a Site Coordinator, he did everything which includes washing dishes, assisting the chef in cooking, prepping food, organizing and setting up the food pantry and soup kitchen, cleaning, taking in deliveries, serving clients, packing pantry bags, etc.

David's problem solving skills and creativity eventually landed him in a position at Met Council where he worked as the Food Pantry Coordinator. He went to different Met Council Agencies in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan to help them setup their pantry to become a member of Food Bank NYC.

David has a Bachelors degree in Economics with a concentration in Economics Analysis of Crime from John Jay College and a Bachelors in Computer Science from Hunter College. He also received food safety training from ServSafe, Food Bank NYC, and the Department of Health.
